What is Hepatitis C ?

Hepatitis C (hep C, HCV) is a viral infection of the liver. HCV is spread when your blood comes in contact with an infected person's blood. Symptoms of hep C include abdominal pain, clay colored stools, yellow skin, and confusion.

Hepatitis C is a liver disease caused by the hepatitis C virus: the virus can cause both acute and chronic hepatitis infection, ranging in severity from a mild illness lasting a few weeks to a serious, lifelong illness.
